Overview:

Law Firm seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR & Accounting Specialist to support both Human Resources and Accounting functions within a collaborative team environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work, balancing administrative HR responsibilities with hands-on accounting and data analysis tasks. The position also offers growth potential into payroll processing and other project-based initiatives. Will start Part-Time 3 days a week during regular business hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Support:

  • Assist with general accounting activities such as researching general ledger account history, preparing journal entries, and performing account reconciliations.
  • Support 1099 preparation and other year-end compliance reporting.
  • Conduct analysis of data and prepare spreadsheets to support management and project-based initiatives.
  • Participate in special projects, including benefit reconciliation through payroll and deduction analyses.
  • Serve as a potential back-up for payroll processing as the role evolves.

Human Resources Support:

  • Assist team members with HR documentation and meetings related to new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, position changes, benefits, and performance matters.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollment, reconciliation, and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Prepare and update HR-related reports and assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of combined HR and/or accounting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of payroll, benefits, or HR administration is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data and spreadsheets.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset.
